William LaShawn Calhoun Jr., born on February 3, 1970, in Houston, Texas, later relocated to South Central, Los Angeles as a child. He is better known by his stage name WC (pronounced "dub-c"), an American rapper and actor. WC originally rapped with the group Low Profile before forming his own group, WC and the Maad Circle, whose debut single "Ain't A Damn Thang Changed" found success. He subsequently embarked on a solo career. WC is also widely recognized for his membership in the rap supergroup Westside Connection, alongside fellow West Coast rappers Ice Cube and Mack 10.
